- 40 UHF Channels**: Choose from 40 UHF channels to transmit or receive messages.
- Digital Coded Squelch (DCS): Choose from 104 alternative digital codes that can be sent with your transmission. The digital code is recognised by compatible receivers enabling them to receive or block unwanted conversations.
- Voice Scramble Function: Enabling private communication by scrambling the voice signal, preventing other users without special descrambling equipment from understanding the conversation. Compatible Uniden units will be able to understand the signal.

- Bearcat Engine: Using Uniden’s world recognised Bearcat scanning technology, the UH078sx can scan UHF CB Channels and user programmable channels at the same time. Open scan and group scan gives seamless communication across all the channels and bands.
- Long Life Super Switch: Select high or low RF output power to extend your battery power supply.
- Range Extender (Duplex) Capability: Allows the UH078sx to operate via a local repeater station, if available, which re-transmits your signal over a wider area. Up to an extra 30-100km depending on location, height and availability of local repeater station.
- VOX Hands Free Capable: Hands free operation using the UH078sx is possible with its Voice Activated Circuitry and the optional headset microphone.
- Interference Eliminator (CTCSS): Block out unwanted conversations.
- Backlit Keypad and LCD Display: The keypad and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is backlit for easy viewing at night or in low light situations.
- Auto Battery Save: Allows the UH078sx to automatically save and conserve power when not in use.
- Open Scan: This Scan mode scans all channels in memory and locks on any active channels.
- Group Scan: This scan mode allows the user to select the channels they wish to monitor ⁄listen to in a group, along with a priority channel (priority watch).
- Battery Level Indicator: Allows you to see the level of power left in the UH078sx batteries.
- Busy Channel Lockout Function: Disables your transmitter while activity is detected on the channel.
- Roger Beep: Confirmation tone indicates the completion of your transmission.
- Keypad Lock: Allows keys to be frozen.
